Transfer function and PID controller to control temperature of 3D CAD Object

Hi,
I a have a 3D CAD model of an aluminium plate that is exposed to heat (radiation) at certain times. I would like add heaters to the plate using a controller with PID logic. How can I further investiage the heat transfer of my 3D object in MATLAB/Simulink, e.g. estimate or get the transfer function of my object or simulate how long it takes for the object to reach steady state. I do have real temperature measurements collected from the object over long periods of time.
More help, links, ressources, tips, examples where I can learn how to estimate the transfer function of my real 3D CAD object and simulate the heat transfer (e.g how long it does for the object to reach steaty state) would be very helpful.

Do you have both the 3D model and the physical part?
If you have the physical part and real-world data you can try using the system identification toolbox to construct a model (https://www.mathworks.com/help/ident/).
If you have a 3D model (for instance, a .stl file), then its possible to use Finite Elements (for example https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/66738-structural-and-thermal-analysis-with-matlab-april-2018).
