Does the Xbee class also work with Xbee S1?

Hi,

I have two Xbees S1 and one of them is connected to a sensor. With the other one I want to read the data in Matlab.

I tried working with the Xbee class http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/45550-wireless-control-and-monitoring-of-an-led-using-xbee, but I don't get it to work.

Does this class only work with Xbees S2? How can I read in the Xbee API data frame in Matlab?
