Function: var,mean,std how to use on the matrix?

Hy , I have question about,when I get data matrix [ 100 x 4 - size ] In the statistics problems I must do for whole matrix too get mean,std,var functions - for answer the question what is the mean of data ?

data = 100 x 4

V = mean(data,1)
V = 
    1 2 3 4

V2 = mean(V,1)
V2 = 
    2.5000

Use : to convert your matrix to a vector and then use mean, var, etc:

 m = mean(V(:));
