Model is not training at all!!!

It's been around 30 minutes and

the model is not training at all. Also my laptop seems to get freezed and I can't even minimize the window. So I want to know 1) is my model getting trained very slowly or no? 2) is my ram getting filled while running? ( I am unable to check it since it freezes if I try to check and matlab stops responding) 3) do I need to change hyper-parametrs?

yes，sir，may be check your data，if the data size too big，and should resize them to inputlayer size，or self define read function，the prepare time is too long

HI John,

What type of problem are you looking to train? Is it a CNN on an image problem? What are the spec's of your machine? Do you have a GPU?

If it is an image based deep learning problem and you don't have a GPU, the training time will likely be long. Even with a GPU, some problems will takes hrs or even days to train.

Thank you for the answer. I5 7th gen 16gb ram. I don't have gpu. So any solution to this problem? Can I run this on MATLAB online?

Hi John,

What type of problem is it you're working on? In general GPUs are required for image based applications. Likely the spec's for your machine are not up to training on the type of problem.
