My lab are considering moving to using Matlab Online on Azure, to allow ease of access for multiple users.
However, much of our analysis is done utilising third-party toolboxes made freely available online (such as SPM for neuroimaging analysis, or toolboxes for analysing EEG and NIRS data available on github). When using computer based Matlab, these toolboxes are simply installed on the machine and added to the Matlab path.
How does having these toolboxes installed work when using Matlab Online through a VM? Can they be installed onto the online Matlab, and then be accessible to anyone who downloads remote desktop access to the VM, or do they need to be installed individually on eacm remote desktop (and if so, would it need to be reinstalled every time a new remote access desktop is accessed?

I believe Matlab online can access 3rd party code from your Matlab Drive. You can organize that content into folders, which you can share with others,
