Help with Cubic spline interpolation?

If I am going to have an block of pixels from image f, and my image g should be interpolated using cubic splines. How do I got about it? What does a cubic spline interpolation do to an image?

You can use interp2 with the 'spline' input option. You could also use griddedInterpolant in a similar way, and that would be better if you're going to be doing interpolations of the same image multiple times.
