To perform convolution in image processing

I need convolution in image processing in particular iris recognition without using conv command.

Is there a particular reason you cannot use the conv() command?

If you cant use conv - then there is always the more relevant conv2!

Also filter2, which does convolution in the end, and convolve2 from the FEX.

And imfilter() in the Image Processing Toolbox (if he's even allowed to use that!). Most likely it's an assignment to build an app without using built-in functions so the student has to write all their own stuff from scratch, such as conv2. Presumably this would give them a better feeling for what convolution does, than to just call it as a black box.

You mean that some students might actually ask us to do their assignments without showing signs of own attempts or efforts? That is shocking!
