Any problem that can find its solution using colored markers?

Hi all! I would like to know as to what kinds of problems will I be able to answer, If I am able to track red, green and blue markers using stereo vision in matlab? One application I found was to find the home position of a manipulator using three colored markers. Does any of you know any other problem that can find its solution from these makrers?
