Haralick and Shapiro Image Segmentation

Which topics are equivalent version of single linkage, hybrid linkage and centroid linkage algorithm ? In other words if i go through Digital image processing book of Gonzales i didn't found discussion of such region growing techniques. Why ???? Where these topics stand in current/recent books of image processing.
