GUIDE gui to ascii file

Is there anyway to convert a gui developed with GUIDE from it's standard binary format to ascii format?

Are you looking looking to do what the "generate code" does for a figure plot? there isn't anything like that for GUIDE. there are methods of extracting the relevant data from the GUIDE but it won't generate anything that will say convert the GUIDE code to say uicontrol(____) at position x,y.

I need to move the application from a classified computer network to an unclassified computer network. I can only do that with text files. I can move the *.m files without a problem. It's the actual GUI that I would have to recreate on the unclassified side.

Even extracting the "relevant data" like tag names, etc would be helpful.
