is there a starting point strategy when solving nonlinear equations?

Is there any strategy of choosing the starting points when we try solving a system of nonlinear equations? Because I have build a system and I solved that with the trust region algorithm and It worked with certain starting points vector but not with others.

Sorry, I do not know of anything that works in general. It's a hard problem to come up with effective starting points.
