how to get data from location?

I have the following dataset

• Loc||Quad|| value
• 1 |a| 1
• 2 |b| 2
• 3 |a| 3
• 4 |a| 1
• 5 |b| 2
• 6 |a| 2
• 7 |a| 9
• 8 |b| 11
• 9 |a| 10
• 10 |a| 12
• 2 |b| 2
• 3 |a| 3etc

How do I just get the information based on the quad. In other words how do I just print out all the data (loc, quad and value)that is in quad 'a' and for quad 'b'.

When you say "dataset" do you mean MATLAB's dataset() object? How is the data stored in MATLAB? For example is it a cell array?
