The author is currently a Professor at Universidad Nacional Experimental Politécnica "Antonio José de Sucre", Puerto Ordaz - Estado Bolívar, Venezuela, in Computation and Process Control areas. He has developed some control tasks for aluminum electrollityc reduction pots, such as Automatic Quenching of Anode Effects (ASV/Hydroalumnum, Oslo, Norway/1987, working for VENALUM) and AlF4 Feeding Task (working for ALCASA, Venezuela/1988). In 2004, he got his MSc degree in Electronics. In 2006, he presented a paper on Variable Structure Systems in the IASTED International Conference on Modeling and Simulation, which took place in Montreal. Currently, Prof. Marcano is following a PhD program in Mechatronics, at the Universidad de Malaga, Spain.
