I received my Ph.D. summa cum laude in Physics in 2008 from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia in Madrid, Spain. I have developed my doctoral thesis from 2003 to 2008 in the Image Processing and Vision Modelling Group of the Optical Institute “Daza de Valdes” in Madrid. I received my BS degree in physics, in 1979. From 1980 to 1998 I have been an employee of Telefónica S. A., working in areas such as telephone traffic, failure analysis, quality and reliability normative and systems engineering, including submarine systems and stations. During this period I have held diverse positions of responsibility, ending as Submarine Cable Stations Maintenance & Operations Global Head.
