needlelab: Threading linear algebra with your sewing machine.
needlelab is a lightweight MATLAB namespace born from a stubborn refusal to use bloated digitization software, or lossy intermediate vector formats (.svg) for hands-on making.
Instead of drawing shapes with a mouse, exporting them to an external format, and letting a slicer guess the paths, needlelab treats your digital embroidery machine exactly like a 2D CNC vector plotter. It compiles continuous mathematical curves, coordinate matrices, and differential equation solutions directly into raw, unshielded machine byte streams (.pes, .dst).
If you have ever wanted to fix an uneven hemline by adjusting a boundary value problem, or if you want to use your sewing machine as a real-time hardware-in-the-loop testbed for numerical simulation, you are in the right place.
