- The grass is always greener on the other side. And in many cases it's free and open.
- For me it is a draw-back that there are no Matlab-based books on program design. Nothing like Python 3 Object Oriented Programming. Google hardly returns any hits for the words "Design Patterns"+Matlab. And the Matlab doc returns next to nothing for "Design Patterns".
- Matlab is a dynamic language and it's ridiculous to criticize it for not being C or C++.

There is some serious MATLAB hate going on here. I'm not sure what they want you to abandon MATLAB for... maybe a combination of R, Python & C. So you will need to program in three languages instead of one.

Yes, and I read it and nearly forgotten what it says. I have become a Matlab-only-user/programmer. Comments:

I read the blog. It's not about hate. The blog describes serious problems with Matlab language and functions. You don't have to abandon Matlab even if you agree with what the blog says, just keep in mind that the design of the Matlab language is ancient.

"serious problems with Matlab language"   Which of the items discussed in the blog do you think are the most serious problems?

Right, and the best carpenter will be one who only uses a saw, the best doctor is the one who only needs a scalpel, and the best person is one who can't find any flaws in anything.
