tofloat and Paddedsize functions

Hello everyone i want to figure out what these function are used for and whats the usage in filtering in the frequency domain?

tofloat() and paddedsize() are not Matlab functions in any toolbox I know of. If you found these in some code that you found somewhere, you'll have to share that information. We can't guess what you're looking at.

IIRC, functions by similar names are used in at least a couple textbooks, though sometimes they're mere concepts in pseudocode.
