How ga (Genetic Algorithm) in MATLAB works when encountering equality constraints?

Hi,

They are many papers and algorithm explaining what to do with equality constraints in evolutionary algorithms. I was wondering what the GA (ga) in MATLAB do for implementing the constaints. Any document explaining this?
