Really? No one? I have tried everything that I know of in the past few months but it is always the same. Looks terrible and my thesis submission is right around the corner. Any help would be much appreciated.
Jagged contours when exporting figures

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me with this as I'm trying to get some figures made for my thesis but I cannot get them to look like I want. They look fine as a figure in matlab but exporting them as eps, pdf, tiff or jpg, the thick contours (linewidth=2) are not continuous. It looks like little tiny boxes are drawn for the contour instead of just making the outside bounds of it and filling in. The thinner contours (linewidth=1) look fine.
I'm using the m_contour function (for maps).
This is from a jpg rendered at -r1200 (zoomed in)
Any suggestions to make these contours smooth? I've tried increasing the rendering on every different type of export but they all have the same result.

Maybe you can give a last try to screenshot and then you can put it in MS Word(if you are using that) else you can use paint and do the stuff. But this method is also not efficient enough but it still it will not decrease original image quality due to image compression algorithms used during exporting. Best of luck for your thesis
