I have some issues with Matlab 2013, Matlab 2013 crashes and Shows a lower Performance than the 2012a version.
Examples: I Transfer financial time series in ASCII to .mat with a function. 2012 is 5 times faster than 2013. 2012 has never crashed, 2013 crashes and Shows "out of Memory" error. (The ASCII files are about 100MB and contain financial time series, I have plenty of ram but Matlab only use a small Portion).
Question: Did you Change something on the Memory Management or will there be an update for Matlab 2013a to fix those Errors?

If you have a specific crash and reproduction steps, please open a support case. Without the specific data and/or code to reproduce the error, there's no way of knowing for sure what's wrong and how to fix it.

Hi,
I got a same issue with Matlab 2013a using the load function where i load a 600 MB text file (columns seperated by tabs) This works fine with Matlab 2008 installed on my laptop.
Any idea ?

is this only an error you find with text files or images as well?

Just installed Matlab 2013a, upgraded from 2010a, and it keeps half freezing on anything I do, mostly longer codes. Pretty annoying. It seems like it happens every time matlab count usage of a variable, but I'm not sure. How do I turn it off though?
