symbolic and numerical factorization in cholmod

Hi,
I would like to compute the Cholesky factorization of a matrix that keeps the sparse structure but changes the values at each time I need the factorization.
I'm using SuiteSparse (lchol), and looking at the documentation I saw that actually it's possible (in the C-version) to perform symbolic and numerical factorizations. Is this also possible to do it when using the toolbox in Matlab ?
Thanks in advance,
Cristobal.

This can be done in MATLAB version R2011a (see Cholesky factorization).
