matlab hdl coder assertion error

While converting a MATLAB script to HDL using HDL coder, conversion stalls at an error:

Assertion failed: .\emhcoder\HDLTransformer.cpp:160:pirType

Use help codegen for more information on using this command.

What is this error related to? Please help.
