I need help getting started in MATLAB this is an assignment and the instructor has been no help. I am new to all this and struggling to get started, Any help would be much appreciated.
Given the following relationships, write a MATLAB program to find the current (I) carrying capability of copper, aluminum, gold, and silver where all wires have a diameter (d) of the wire of 0.5 cm, a length (L) of 10,000 m, and an applied voltage (V) of 110V.
V = IR R = (ρL)/A A = π(0.5d)2
The resistivity (ρ) for each type wire is:
Copper = 1.72 x 10-8ohm/m
Aluminum = 2.75 x 10-8ohm/m
Gold = 2.44 x 10-8 ohm/m
Silver = 1.59 x 10-8ohm/m

Since this is a homework assignment, if you show us the code you've written to try to solve the problem and ask a specific question about where you're having difficulty we may be able to provide some guidance.
If you aren't sure where to start because you're not familiar with how to write MATLAB code, I suggest you start with the MATLAB Onramp tutorial (https://www.mathworks.com/support/learn-with-matlab-tutorials.html) to quickly learn the essentials of MATLAB.
If you aren't sure where to start because you're not familiar with the mathematics you'll need to solve the problem, I recommend asking your professor and/or teaching assistant for help.

Is there something similar that I could look at to see an example?

The problem is very simple and straight forward. If I have a formula
d = a*b/c with a, b, c defined to evaluate d, we do:
a = 3 ;
b = 2 ;
c = 5 ;
d = a*b/c
