Lomb method for spectral analysis !!!

Hello everyone,
I am working on Lomb method for spectral analysis. I wanted to know if Lomb method only detects the sinusoidals present in the sampled signal or it can be used for spectral analysis of general signals e.g. sinc or wideband signals ?
