MEX-file error during preprocessing

Hey,
We're new to VBM and keep coming up with a MEX-file error during preprocessing. We are currently using MATLAB R2006a and SPM8. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice to solve this problem?

The "Invalid MEX-file" error is typically thrown when your MEX-function references shared libraries (DLLs) that are not on the system path. Have you ensured that all relevant VBM directories are on the system path?
If you would like to determine which DLLs cannot be located, please see: http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/en/data/1-2RQL4L/
