Referring to clustered image

Hi all:

I am using k-means clustering to cluster an image. When displaying the clustered image I have to use imshow(clustered_image,[ ]).When displaying the clustered image using imshow(clustered_image),the result is white image.

The problem is when trying to reuse the clustered image again in the code. How to refer to this image in the code? (to convert it to binary image for example). Again, when referring to this image by only using its name, the result is always displayed in white.
