How to save the mask after hands free active contour ( for area analisys)

Hi,

I am trying to code for a script that takes an image, you set up the points of the snake contour, and after is finish will generate a mask, that you can

take and analyse the area.

I have the code to manually hands free draw a ROI and then generate a mask and calculate an area (attached).

Also I have a bit of code (attached) that attempts on performing a snake contour...although it doesnt work very good on the image I have to analyze ( Attached).

Si my aim is to have a script that I can draw a ROI to run a snkake to later create a maks out of the snake contour (pretty much similar to what matlab tools APP ACTIVE CONTOUR does, but in a more simple code.... ).
