error in svm training

I m doing svm training..I want to train normal and abnormal images... first i extraced the features of both normal and abnormal images and i combined that and assingned a labels '0' and '1'... but i had one error while training..."TRAINING must be a numeric"...please anyone help me by sending a solution...
