heatmap's range of colors is limited ?

I tried drawing a heatmap using the "HeatMap" command.
The documentation is here:
Even after reading it I coudn't figure out the following:
The range of colors is too limited. It's as if the numbers that are too close in value are assigned the same color. ( please see the attached image, different numbers that are close in value have the same color). How can I change this so that unique numbers have unique colors with gradients ?

Change clim property
set(gca,'clim',[-0.8 1.5])

Thank you for your answer. However, what you're suggesting changes the color only, and what I want is for the color gradient to be more visible ( color itself doesn't matter). In other words, even if there is a VERY small difference between 2 values, I want the color difference to be clear between them
