Plotting a matrix of co-ordinates

I have a bunch of points in 2D as a 2 by 56 matrix, and need to make a 2D plot with these points marked on it showing all these point co-ordinates. How do I achieve it?

points = rand(2,56)
plot(points(1,:),points(2,:),'o')
grid on
If you go to the help for plot you will find many other markers and colors to choose from.
