UG Cable Modelling in MATLAB

Hi all,

I have a doubt regarding selecting a cable model for short line UG cable;

which of the following gives an accurate result?

1) 3 phase pi-section line

or

2)

distributed parameter line?

For short underground cables (less than 50 km), the lumped pi-section model is usually sufficiently accurate. The distributed parameter model provides better accuracy, but the difference is negligible for short lines.

But if I want to study the traveling wave information in the cable after a fault, which module should I use?
