How to create custom color spectrum from an array and then relate that color spectrum to a separate data set

Hi all,

I need to create a custom color spectrum that fades between the colors of a stoplight (red, yellow, green).

I need to create this color spectrum based on a log scale of 0.1 for red, 1 for yellow, and 10 for green.

Then I would like to take that color spectrum and use it to color an x/y, 2D dot plot where I compare my data array to the color spectrum array to see where the data lies between 0.1 - 10 and plot it as that color accordingly.
