Issue using DropDown List

Hi all!

I'm trying to inniciate a simple program on the app designer feature but i'm facing some issues on the basics. I'm used to use the old tool GUIDE but know seems to be so different...

I was able to create a DropDown list with 3 options, and now i want to display in a EditField box differents values for each option choiced how can i do this?

Here'is the code i've been writing but it's not working...

            value = app.escolha_curto.Value
          
                if value == 1
                app.resposta.Value=1;
                elseif value == 2
                app.resposta.Value=2;
                else 
                app.resposta.Value=3;
