Simulate welded beam design optimization problem using Matlab or Simulink

is it possible to create a model for the welded beam optimization problem using Matlab or Simulink? Something similar to the attached picture.

If you can create the geometry somehow, then I believe that the structural mechanics part of Partial Differential Equation Toolbox can find a numerical solution to the problem for any given set of parameters.

However, if your question is how to create the geometry, then I don't know.
