export a video fps into GUI

Hello everyone,

im processing a video online and i want to display the fps acquired into the gui in a text form

im kind a new on this thing and im thinking to use this equation: (dont know yet if this is the best calc. and if it will lag me up)

[frames, timeStamp] = getdata(vid);

diffFrameTime = diff(timeStamp);

FPS = 1/avgTime;

so i want to display the FPS on real time alongside the video... can anyone help me?
