I just installed MATLAB on a new mahine running Ubuntu 18.04. I have a MATLAB license from my university. After the installation, I'm supposed to run lmstart.
However, when I run lmstart in the terminal, I get an error:
(identifying information removed)
Checking license file for local hostname and local hostid . . .
/usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a/etc/lmhostid: 332: /usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a/etc/lmhostid: /usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a/etc/glnxa64/lmhostid: not found
Error: Your host does not match any SERVER line in your license
file. Your local lmhostid(s) are:
Your hostname is: my_computer_name
The SERVER line(s) are:
-----------------------------------------------
SERVER matlabresearchls.myuniversity.com 12345678 1708

Please stop, fix the problem, and try again . . .
What do I do? I can't run MATLAB on my computer with out this.

Hello Mark,
The cause of such issues might be the missing of Linux Standard Base (LSB) libraries. Try installing all the libraries and it might help resolve the issue. The following answer provides more information on installing LSB libraries:

If you came by this error it means that you're trying to install Matlab in connected mode to the server of whoever gave you your license, so you must be connected to the said server in order for your installation to work! Alternatively, you can ask your fournisher to give you an autonomous activation key, and then proceed with the installation by registering to Matlab online, activating your key and then choose "login in with a MathWorks Account" instead of "use a File Installation Key" in the fist step of the installer.
