Can you use a Simulink model to set the values in a different model?

Is there any way that you can have one model link up to another model? Lets say I got a model that looks like this:
And another model that looks like:
If the first one had constant blocks instead of inports, could I set the first models constants and have the outport send the value to the inport of the second model?

AFAIK, the only supported way currently to have two models run simultaneously and send/receive data from each other is to use both of them as referenced models inside a third model where you can connect their input/output ports as required.
