Motion detection using image subtraction.

I want to perform motion detection using a modified subtraction method. How do I account for lighting changes so that they are handled well?

Tracking Objects

Look at the section titled: "Object Tracking", in this news and notes edition.

That should get you started. Using an algorithm that implements normalized correlation should help you deal with lighting changes.
