Question about imadjust3 function

I have 3D data. The data type is double but the values are not ranging between 0 and 1. I would like to use the imadjust3 function to adjust the contrast of the image but I am keep getting the following error:

mydata_adj=imadjust3(my data);

Error using imadjust3 (line 242)

If image type is double or single values must be between 0 and 1

Can anyone help with that?
