solving Exponential function with one variable

need to to solve the equation
.5*(U(i)-deltau(i))^2+1.5*deltau(i)^2 == .5*(V(i)-U(i))^2;
where
deltau=(exp(-((U(i)-300)/(3*300)).^2));
for U using ''solve'' function in for loop,, can anyone help plz.
and If I want this function in for loop with series values of V
