Why cant I open my gui from open button? I must type guide in command window and then run it to oberate

I can't open my gui from the open button in Matlab or I will get an error. I must type guide and then open it.

Opening from the open menu runs the figure. Opening it in GUIDE allows you to edit the actual UI.
