run m.files while real time simulink is running

Hi,
how can i run m.files while my simulink in real time is running? This simulink real time is a controller for a drone and m.files is a sensor data(distance). the situation goes something like this.. while the drone is flying, the sensor data is read. when some distance detected, then execute other m.files (Avoidance).
is it possible to do it? can someone help me.
