Matlab Web Browser info

I'm looking for information on the Matlab web browser, as I'm writing a help file in HTML for a GUI and would like to use some HTML5 and CSS3 features. I can test the features in my Matlab R2017a web browser, but I am unable to find any info about when those features may have become supported in Matlab, and if there is any operating system dependence. I need to distribute this GUI to people with Matlab R2015a and newer, and on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Is there any info like that out there?

On Microsoft® Windows® and Apple Macintosh platforms, MATLAB uses the default browser for your operating system.

On UNIX® platforms, MATLAB uses the Mozilla Firefox browser. You can specify a different system browser for MATLAB using Web preferences.
