TCPIP object scope in MATLAB 2014b

Hi all,
I am working with to scripts, A and B. I've created a TCPIP object using MATLAB's "tcpip" function in script A. Now, I have a function in script B (which is called from script A) and I need to access the tcpip object. I can't figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated.
