Receive simulink UDP blocks in other software

Can we send matlab/simulink UDP blocks to other software like eclipse ? could eclipse read that and use that ?

I believe there are Simulink function blocks for TCP and UDP as part of the Instrument Control Toolbox. Or there is http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/15762

Could we send data as ASCII ? because otherwise we should convert that somehow in other software

I would think that you could, but I have not used Simulink so I do not know how to do the conversion.
