GUI creation

Can anyone please let me know as to what is the exact procedure i need to adopt,if i want to take an input from the user in one text box and display the result after some computations corresponding to the user input, on another text box.All these must happen once i press the push button in GUI

1. Ask for input

2. Process input

3. Display output
