sift algorithm Lowe 2004

Pls has anyone used the function showkeys in the matlab implementation of the David Lowe SIFT algorithm for image registeration? how do i define the variable "locs". i understand it is a matrix in which each row gives a keypoint location (row, column, scale, orientation).
