How to code for generating a crossword out of some given random letters?

I need to look through the answers for Matlab Crossword programming contest. Does anyone know how can I have that? Seems that they are removed

Actually my goal is to write the code to make a crossword with max number of words in it, out of a random letters. I first want to look at a sample code to learn how to make a crossword out of some given words. Then I will try to optimize it using MILP toolbox maybe. Do you have any idea about an algorithm to make a crossword?
