Factset connection - datafeed and installations.
Ältere Kommentare anzeigen
Hi, I have some basic questions regarding the factset connections. I have the datafeed toolbox, do I still need to install factset "factset on demand" toolkit and their Matlab Integration V3.3 packages? Or can i directly use the fetch commands with username and password?
Does it matter where physically I have matlab and factset installed? In my case they are on separate servers, if so, How can I handled this?
Thankful for any help on this matter.
best, Maria Werner

Hi Maria,
I work on the product development team here at FactSet, responsible for the FactSet OnDemand product. The fetch commands you mentioned above are from our original integration into MATLAB. We have since developed the FactSet OnDemand plugin, which also leverages the DataFeed Toolbox you mentioned. The newest version of this product is 3.3, which you also referenced in your original comment.
Regardless of how you access FactSet data in MATLAB, it will require a subscription to the FactSet OnDemand product. This product is essentially a link to the FactSet databases. The plugin requires an installation in the same directory as your MATLAB install, but does not require the FactSet workstation in the same location. However, there are features of the plugin that leverage the FactSet workstation, such as our code builder called SideBar.
I will also reach out directly with my contact information in case you have any further questions.
Thank you,
David Sheldon
