how do imextendedmin and imimposemin work?

hi everyone I want to use a code that in this code we have imimposemin and imextendedmin commands. I read something about these in matab help but I couldn't understand that how these codes works, clearly. can you help me or give me a simple definition or example to understand these commands? thanks
